This website is run by Leisa and Andy Coles, trading as Super Staffie Adventures, St Helens, Merseyside, UK (“we”, “us”). What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject and message so we can reply. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (answering your enquiry). We keep these messages for up to two years, then delete them.
When you join our mailing list
If you sign up to “Join the Super Staffie pack”, or tick the box on our contact form, we collect your first name and email address to send you news about Super Staffie books, adventures and goodies. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by contacting us. We keep your details until you unsubscribe.
When you buy a book
Our books are sold through Amazon. When you buy from them, they handle your order and payment, and their own privacy policy applies. We don’t receive your payment details.
Cookies and analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use our website, for example which pages are visited most, and Google Ads measurement to see how well our ads work. It collects information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location (town or country), the device and browser you use, and how you arrived at our site. It doesn’t tell us who you are. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give using our cookie banner. If you say no, Google Analytics doesn’t run.
You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. We keep Google Analytics data for 14 months. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
Who we share your information with
We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted services to run the website:
- Krystal Hosting (UK): hosts our website.
- MailerLite (EU): stores our mailing list and sends our emails.
- SMTP2GO: delivers the emails sent by our website, such as contact form messages.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads): measures how our website is used and how well our ads work, only if you agree to cookies.
- Microsoft 365: our email, which receives and stores contact form messages.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
Children
Our books are for children, but this website is intended for grown-ups. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you’re under 13, please ask a parent or carer to contact us or sign up for you.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, contact us at leisa@superstaffie.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if anything changes, for example when we start selling merchandise directly.
